Helen Reeves

Helen Reeves - Credentialed Mental Health Nurse, Master of Mental Health Nursing, Clinical Supervisor

Credentialed Mental Health Nurse, Master of Mental Health Nursing, Clinical Supervisor

I chose this photo as it makes me happy reminiscing about exciting times and places.  It was taken in a helicopter when I was going out to visit people on the inner Torres Strait Islands. I recently spent 18 months working there and another 18 months working in East Arnhem Land.  This was a fabulous opportunity to gain a glimpse into life in remote indigenous communities.   I hope to return someday.

Professionally, I am a Mental Health Nurse and Clinical Supervisor.  I am very keen on all things to do with mental health and social and emotional wellbeing.  I have spent 40 years working with people across a broad range of areas including acute psychiatric inpatient units, community mental health centres, private practice, teaching in Universities, and most recently, in remote northern Australia Indigenous communities.

I enjoy working collaboratively with people to support their wellbeing.  I work with a strong focus on trauma-informed care and support my practice with evidence-based strategies. I also enjoy community capacity building and mental health promotion.   I am a Master Mental Health First Aid facilitator and always interested in facilitating courses.

I am currently working from my office in High Street Belmont and due to limited time capacity, I am usually only available for appointments on a Wednesday. If you feel we could work together and you would like to organise an appointment, please contact me on my mobile below.
