Registered Therapy Dog
Our Golden Retriever Barnaby (aka Barney) is a Registered Therapy Dog. He has completed a five-day training course through K9 Support Australia and is able to work with Pritchard Health in an official capacity doing Animal Assisted Interventions. While he is working, he wears his special vest.
Therapy dogs can make a positive difference to psychological wellbeing in a clinical setting and animal companionship programs are now seen in schools, courtrooms, aged care facilities, and increasingly, in counselling settings. You can find out more about this unique initiative by going to www.k9support.com.au
Barney is available for client consultations through Sian and works in the clinic as well as at local schools Clonard and Sacred Heart. As you might expect, he has his own Insta page.
